14Slut-shaming is something that’s coming up a lot around me in my gaming experience lately. I’m guilty of it myself sometimes and I hate it. It’s nice to see a designer who sees it, and among his other random thoughts on sexism, mentions it. Thanks Jamie.
It really gets my goat that the same people who will admire and high-five a guy for getting it on with a dozen women over the course of a month will label a woman a “slut” or a “whore” for being in control of her own sexuality and engaging in casual relationships or one night stands. I believe that if a person is responsible about their sexuality and isn’t hurting anyone else, there is no reason to judge them. I have as much respect for the girl who doesn’t want a boyfriend but still wants some naked-fun-time as I do for the guy who has chosen to save himself for marriage. It’s a personal choice, as in not mine to make for someone else.
